MEDITATION
3  How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,  4  by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),
Ephesians 3:3-4

OBSERVATION AND INTERPRETATION

1. How that by revelation

a) Revelation

i) This is an important doctrine
ii) God has to reveal His word to us

b) Human wisdom

i) Very limited
ii) Impossible to fully God

2. He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already)

a) “He” is a reference to God
b) God made known

i) His word
ii) His teachings

c) Mystery

i) Things unknown
ii) Things that have been hidden

d) Briefly written

i) Read Ephesians 1-2 again

ii) Many great truths have been revealed

3. By which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

a) Reading

i) Our responsibility
ii) Through reading we will understand

b) Paul’s knowledge

i) He had a vast knowledge
ii) He had a deep understanding

c) The mystery of Christ

i) Few understood that the Lord Jesus was the Christ
ii) This is a great truth that Paul sought to teach others

APPLICATION TO LIFE AND MINISTRY

1. Our Challenge

a) To read more deeply
b) To understand the mystery of the Lord Jesus Christ

2. Our Application

Let us be deeply committed to proclaiming the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as the
Apostle Paul was. Let us seek to increase our knowledge of the Lord.
